I’m back, with my never ending attempts to share my monthly updates! Before now I had never quite found the right way to do a ‘monthly’ post but since I bought a printer (life changing BTW) I have found myself printing out little photos from my month and sticking them in my favourite notebook so I thought why not share my scruffy little scrapbook and call it a blog post!
First of all let’s start off with the obligatory exclamation at how sneaky little September has snuck up on us. No but seriously, how? Although the thought of Autumn fills me with excitement saying goodbye to our fleeting summer will be hard, I’m not looking forward to waking up to dark mornings and weekends spent stuck indoors. I’m going to make it a priority to make the most of the last throws of summer this month, seeking out the sunflower fields and spending evenings at the beach. Plus I think it’s integral I have at least one more BBQ, need that halloumi fix!
September is like a practise new year, there is still something about this month that feels like a fresh start so I’ve been planning a few home projects. I have been cruisin’ and purusin’ Pinterest for some inspiration for our dire kitchen space for a while and I think I’ve finally hit the jackpot – did you know you can paint laminate cupboards? This was a recent (and very exciting) discovery for me! I have been planning up some schemes and ideas and I can’t wait to get started on this project, although I am slightly nervous given my previous paint disaster! There isn’t a massive selection of shades so we have had to plump for a standard mid grey but anything is better than faux wood isn’t it? I’m hoping to do the whole kitchen for under £150.00 but we shall see!
Because of the whole fresh start in September thing I have decided to set myself a couple of goals this month, the first being to learn how to create stunning cinemagraph images for Instagram, armed with this article from Sara Tasker I’m hoping to up my photography game and learn how to craft these mesmerising little image/videos.
On that note I am off to B&Q to go stalk the cabinet handles and who knows, maybe there will be something cinemagraph worthy down the paint isle!
