I’ve been wanting to start a series of posts on And Projects for quite a while, but have struggled with thinking up ideas that wouldn’t tire quickly and begin to bore me after a couple of weeks. So instead of writing about a certain topic on the regular, I thought I would round up a selection of the little things that have gone on in the past month, blogs that inspire me and future projects that I am excitedly planning!
I might have mentioned this on social media (a hundred times) but Homedit featured my DIY concrete plant pots in one of their posts. It was amazing to see the little pots I had created in my tiny kitchen sat along side such creative projects, one of the planters in particular caught my eye and led me to Passion Shake, the most beautiful and inspiring blog I’ve come across in a long time. Passion Shake is written by the ingenious and enviously stylish Agata (even her name is bloody gorgeous), her home is the abode of dreams; dreamy white walls, pale grey’s and neutral wood tones, can I move in? Agata’s blog has really re-inspired me to work on my photography and my content, her blog has also persuaded me that I need some grey linen bed sheets!
It’s that time of year when the British gardens and allotments become over run with fresh produce and growers are left with a deluge of homegrown vegetables. Although I don’t even own a garden I seem to end up with crates of fresh produce and I’m definitely not complaining as it is pushing me to try new foods, this month I was given something called a ‘Twinkle’ which was a delicious combination of a squash and maybe a pepper, so good roasted and served in a salad!
Front Door Projects
I have been desperately pinning away pictures of painted front doors for years now but living with a boy who I have to begrudgingly share decisions with meant that I was not allowed to touch our doorway, until one day, under my constant hassling he conceded to me painting our front door a shockingly bright shade of yellow! We are still yet to find the perfect paint (I’m after Satinwood and just can’t find the right shade) but I’m hoping that we will have a colourful front door very soon! Find all of my inspiration here.
One of my sisters was throwing away a pair of desk chairs, albeit they were quite wobbly and wouldn’t hold the weight of a five year old without collapsing. But we all know how I love a project so this week I am going to set about upholstering the chairs in a funky palm leaf print fabric which I had shipped over from China. I’m really excited to give re-upholstery a go, it will be my first time at it so it could be a complete disaster, either way expect to see the results on here soon!
So that’s my little update for the month, I would love to hear what you’ve been up to, what or who has been inspiring you and any future projects on the horizon (I get pretty excited about other peoples projects and DIYs).
