Autumn has always been my favourite season, I don’t know what it is but when October rolls around the excitement in the air is almost palpable, so when Ocean Loans challenged me to update my home ready for Autumn on a £50.00 budget I knew that I wanted to create a space to cosy up in as the days draw cooler.
My sofa is my sanctuary in the colder months so I thought it was about time for a fall cushion update and nothing says cosy like plush velvet. I had my eye on the dreamy velvet cushion covers for a while and decided it was about time to invest. I also picked up a vintage style vase from H&M because there is something about the changing seasons which makes me want to surround myself with pretty trinkets and homeware.
Candles and Autumn pretty much go hand in hand, so I picked up a beautiful Sandlewood, Cinnamon and Clove candle from Homesense, the scent is incredible; it’s spicy, subtle and fills the whole house with a wonderful aroma.
Crisp Autumnal Sunday mornings call for good coffee and the best coffee doesn’t always come from paper cups, in fact I am pretty sure it comes from copper toned cafetieres. I am sort-of-kind-of in love with this cafetiere and the nutmeg spiced coffee that has been filling it! But, you can’t buy a new cafetiere, glorious new coffee and not buy a set of huge, bucket sized mugs to drink it all from so when I saw a pair of oversized, textured mugs in M&S I knew my Autumn set up was complete. The only issue with making your home so damn cosy is it makes it that much harder to leave on a Monday morning!
The only thing missing is a thick wedge of Pumpkin pie and a spooky movie on the television.
